Disney World Paid Rides Are More Expensive During the Holidays

At the beginning of 2021, Disney World replaced its previous FastPass system with Genie.

Even though Lightning Lane is quite the same as Disneyland’s MaxPass, which was operated in the past, the Individual Attraction Selection is new this season.

Genie+ is for $15 every day, and you can make Lightning Lane reservations. However, guests can pay for some rides if they want to get at the beginning of a line.

However, the Individual Attraction Selection cost depends on the park, attraction as we as the day. During Halloween time, we saw that there was a surge in price. We also saw surging prices during Christmas week.

Moreover, eight attractions are mainly available for Individual Attraction Selection option. However, these rides are available if you choose the Genie+ Lightning Lane.

Usual prices of the rides

  • Space Mountain: $7
  • Expedition Everest: $7
  • Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway: $8
  • Rise of the Resistance: $15
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: $12
  • Flight of Passage: $11
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure: $9
  • Frozen Ever After: $9

As you can most of the price of the rides is $7 – $12 except for the Rise of the Resistance, which is $15. But during the busier weeks at Disney World, we noticed an increase in price for these attractions.

Surge in prices

Some of the prices for the rides will increase by a few dollars, but some stayed the same during the holiday season.

Also, some of the increased prices during the holiday season for Individual Attraction Selection attractions:

Moreover, the surge price difference is $2 except Flight of Passage, which is $3. Also, the Rise of the Resistance price stayed the same.

Furthermore, some rides available for the paid option are now only available if you buy Genie+ during this holiday season. The rides are:

  • Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
  • Expedition Everest
  • Frozen Ever After
  • Space Mountain

They will be only available from January 3, 2022, if you purchase Genie+.
