Newest changes in Disney World 2022

From rides, shops, and themes to new vacation packages, Disney world revealed a lot of surprises for their fans. Here are nine such changes that are worth exploring on your next visit.

1. Fast pass changed to Genie+

We are sorry that your favorite fast pass just expired. It used to be free and deployed a virtual queue system to expedite the queuing process.

A fast card ensured that people didn’t waste most of their time waiting in lines. However, the recent update made it obsolete.

Instead, it’s replaced with Genie+, where you need to pay a charge of $15, and they allow you to skip lines at many Disney World attractions.

This service is new and has seen some updates since its launch. Maybe someone will add up with time, but it costs you $15 and is only available to purchase on the day of your visit.

2. Accidental Magic band+ release

The features of the magic band are not known yet because it was an accidental release by Disney. People spotted the new magic band+ in the Disney stores inside the park, and it immediately got viral.

The band got a USB port and features like haptics, gesture recognition, lights, and more. Maybe you can connect it with your smartphone to learn more about Disney World attractions. You don’t have to wait long to know about the band’s fantastic features because it will be released anytime this summer.

3. The barbershop

Do you know there is a saloon inside the Disney world? The shop welcomes adults and children to have various haircuts and a unique experience in the wonderful world.

Is this your child’s first haircut? Then make the experience memorable by getting it done in the Disney world!

Standby, the saloon is not opened yet because of the Covid protocol; still, recently, Disney announced that a beautiful-looking saloon would be reopening on July 31, with reservations opening on June 28.

Please don’t rely on walk-in chances because it will be crowded as usual during the initial days; instead, use the My Disney Experience app to book your appointment.

4. Boutique

BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOUTIQUE, the fancy name, provided fancy services to turn kiddos into dolls. It was an appointment-based boutique that offered various makeup packages and complete makeover for kids to Disney dolls.

However, the boutique closed in 2020. The good news is that in May 2022, Disney announced that the kid’s favorite boutique would be reopening soon.

They haven’t mentioned any specific date yet, nor it’s on the app, but after this announcement, it is clear that the wonderland of makeovers will soon be functional.

5. EPCOT Updates

EPCOT is a theme park with various attractions, water shows, gardens, festival areas, concert halls, etc.

Saying it is people’s favorite place would not be wrong. It will be more fantastic because Disney plans to change the park with new inclusions that will make your experience memorable.

In May, Disney announced they would be adding two new spots, CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, which will be home to many festivals. They plan to bring more drastic changes to the theme park and will soon announce the same.

6. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Finally Opened

The most-awaited roller coaster ride of Disney world is finally opened. Their team consistently shared updates about the construction and the launch date, but finally, the thrilling roller coaster was functional.

The best part is that you don’t have to stand in a queue and kill time because the roller coaster follows a virtual queue, and you can even opt for the lightning lane if you are in a hurry.

It’s an Omni coaster, which means the vehicle will not just move forward but can move in any direction. Imagine going forward, and something immediately sucks you backward or even sideways. It’s the longest indoor coaster ever constructed and will surely provide an unforgettable experience.

7. The crowd is back

Disney world seems incomplete without the crowd! Since the pandemic, people were refraining from joining public places, and the laws were strict. However, in May, it was noticed that the crowd is slowly returning, and the place looks livelier, enhancing your overall experience.

Their team changed the “mask policy,” and the people who already took their vaccines do not have to wear masks. Now you can enjoy your trip without any restrictions.

8. Vacation packages for 2023

Disney world prepared ahead of time, and the bookings for the theme parks, hotels, resorts, stays, and vacation packages for 2023 will be available to book from June 8.

The plan includes some additional benefits for the citizens of the UK and Ireland, providing huge saving opportunities if they plan to visit in 2023.

Disney World announced the “Magic is Yours” Package that provides the citizens with $1,200 as a merchandise credit, a 14-day ticket for the price of a 7-day ticket (including Memory Maker). Additionally, they get $200 in Disney money, which can be used for various activities on the Disney mobile app.

9. Disney extended the early theme park entry

It’s an extra perk for people staying in Disney World hotels. It qualifies them an entry in any of Disney World’s parks before 30 minutes of official opening time on any day. In May, Disney announced that the entry will extend 2023.

Make sure you book your stay in Disney world hotels to qualify for this perk because you must show a valid admission and park reservation for early entry.

May was an exciting month and full of announcements about the newest changes in Disney World. Let’s wait and see what surprises Disney got for us in June. We are hoping for the best!
