If you are someone who visited WDW years back and still expect some things to remain as it is, you could be disappointed. Well, here we will list things that have stopped in Disney World to help you make your plans without them!

The only thing constant at Disney World is change. Since its opening in 1971, many changes, additions, upgrades, and closures have happened at Disney World.

There have been attractions that are no longer here. So, this is bound to make us nostalgic. Let’s look back at the past and see what we will miss at Disney World.

Things That Have Stopped a Disney World Permanently

Here are things that you cannot experience in WDW anymore:

Magical Express

Earlier, Disney used to provide for the transportation of guests back and forth from Orlando International Airport. The service was also free. Guests wouldn’t have to worry about the extra budget required to reach the resorts or airport.

Even though Sunshine Flyers and Mears Connect are there to offer you ride to your resorts, that will cost you money. However, these buses have made the Disney out-of-town guest’s life easier.

Disney Dining Plan

Before the pandemic hit the world, Disney Dining Plan was a very popular plan at Disney World. It was a prepaid service for meals.

You could pay for your meals earlier and enroll yourself in an all-inclusive plan. If you opted for Disney Dining Plan, you would not have to pay for your food for the entire trip.

There were four dining options: Deluxe, Basic, Plus, and Quick Service. Even if Disney confirmed that Dining Plan would return, there has not been any confirmation from their end. So, what you can do is wait.

Extra Magic Hours

Staying at Disney World Resorts has always had its perks. However, earlier, one of the advantages that the Resort guests used to get was that they could stay in the parks even after the closing time. This was called the Extra Magic Hours at Disney World.

Recently, Disney has started the Early Theme Park Entry Program, where guests can receive 30 minutes extra for entering the theme parks.

However, Extra Magic Hours is now gone. Instead, they now have Extended Evening Hours. But, this new feature can only be availed by those residing in Deluxe Resorts.

However, many guests have expressed discontent regarding this special privilege of Deluxe Resort guests. According to them, even the resort guests should have the privilege of staying at the park after closing.

Spontaneity

Earlier, spontaneity was a gift that could add spark to your vacation trip. Surprising twists and turns could add a lot more spice to it.

My Disney Experience App and My Magic+ could help you plan everything at the very moment. But, nowadays, Disney has made park pass reservations compulsory.

Even if you have a ticket now, you will need to have your park pass with you to enter the theme parks.

Final Thoughts

Disney World has changed a lot. However, that doesn’t mean these changes are bad. Many innovations have been made that have the potential to make your stay better at Disney World. So, come one and all, Disney World is there to greet you!
