So, the MagicBand+ was officially released yesterday, July 27, 2022. But Disney had mistakenly released a few of these some time ago. The features of the same are working in the parks already.
Why you need the MagicBand+
If you are new to Magic Bands Disney World, you will primarily wonder what these are and why you need them.
Disney Magic Bands are the most magical technological advancement that makes your visit to WDW smoother.
When the magic bands were released, they cost $30, but the prices shot up with each upgrade. The current one costs $35, but you can do much more with it!
The best part of the MagicBand+ is that it comes with different designs. For example, the one you want to buy now is the 50th-anniversary special edition. But there is one for Disney moms and more options that suit your age or personality.

Inclusions in MagicBand+
MagicBand+ comes in a box, like a new phone or a smartwatch. It includes tools to help you access the band. There is a removal portion of the band that helps you make it tighten. The box also includes a cable to charge it when needed.
According to your usage, one full charge can last up to three days. However, it is best to charge the band the night before your Disney World visit to avoid running out of charge.
The best part is even if the new magic band runs out of charge, it will work like the basic version released earlier. So, you can scan into Disney parks, avail Lightning Lanes, open hotel rooms, and more. However, the exclusive features available to Magic Band 2022 will not work.
What are the special features in Magic Band 2022
Suppose you had a regular Magic Band before. You must have used it to get your photos at PhotoPass kiosks or made payments. These features, along with others mentioned above, still apply to you.
However, there are many more exclusive things the band can do for you, which the previous ones couldn’t! You can now interact with Harmonious in EPCOT and Disney Enchantment in Magic Kingdom.

When fireworks are in the shows, your wristband will light up and shake up due to the vibration. With this band, you also engage with Beacons of Magic at any of the theme parks across Disney.
2. Characters coming to life
One of the most intriguing parts is using the magic bands to bring characters to life! You can now take the bands near the golden statues across Disney World and make the characters come out virtually.
You need to wave the band to a character and see it light up and speak through the band. Every character will communicate something unique and authentically relatable.
3. Fab 50 Quest

4. Usage at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
There is an exclusive feature to avail the activity of Batuu Bounty Hunters. The magic band will help you navigate the attraction and find a bounty.
The light and vibration of the band help you understand if you are moving in the right direction. After finding the bounty, you need to reveal it to Raga Bua and gain credits at the galaxy.
How to set up Disney Magic Band
The first thing you must do after purchasing the Magic Band is to charge it fully. Next, please switch it on and link it with your pass, app, and more. If you still don’t have the Disney World app, you need it to use the magic band properly.
