September 15th to October 15th is celebrated as the month of Hispanic and Latin American Heritage.

Many of us aware of the decolonization of these lands might frown our eyebrows hearing about these dates. However, 21st century is a time of decolonization.

Museums are decolonizing; the colonized countries are moving ahead economically than the colonizer countries. So, celebrating heritage month shouldn’t come as a surprise.

What are the new food items this month?

Disney World is commemorating the Hispanic and Latin American Heritage at the theme parks through food.

So, we have listed some items that are especially available this month and others that adorn the Disney food menu throughout the year.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

ABC Commissary

  • Watermelon Margarita- Patron Silver Tequila, lime juice, sweet-and-sour, and watermelon.
  • Pork Tacos- Pork Carnitas on flour tortillas, pickled onions, and avocado salsa verde toppings. Mexican rice and black beans having queso fresco toppings are there for accompaniment.
  • Shrimp Tacos- Flour tequila containing sauteed shrimp, mango salsa, chipotle mayonnaise, and cabbage slaw topping. Black beans having queso fresco and Mexican rice are there for accompaniment.

Baseline Taphouse

  • Michelada- Mexican drink made with lime juice, chilly peppers, spices, assorted sauces, and beer. This is served in a salt-rimmed glass and is served chilled. This is available till October 15th from September 15th.

Backlot Express

  • Frozen Mojito will be available on the Hispanic and Latin American Heritage menu till October 15th from September 15th.
  • Cuban Sandwich- Roasted pulled pork, mustard, Swiss pickles, and sliced ham. Plantain chips are served with it.

Rosie’s All-American Café

  • Tres Leches- Tres leches cake served with whipped cream, strawberry candy rocks, fresh strawberries, and white chocolate coins. These are available till October 15th from September 15th.

Connections Eatery

  • Southwestern Burger- A combination of guacamole, chamoy, Oaxaca cheese crema, roasted corn-chipotle salsa, and Gourmet beef blend, mounted over a toasted bun.

Choza de Margarita

  • Cochinita Pibil- Mango habanero relish, citrus-marinated pulled pork on corn tortillas adorned with red onions served with corn esquites. This is a limited edition item.

La Hacienda de San Angel

  • Rosa Maria Margarita and a mix of lime juice, orange liqueur, black currant, violet cordial, and Centinela Blanco Tequila. This is also a limited edition.
  • Tamale: Crema Mexicana, queso cotija, pipian sauce used as topping over Cochinita pibil in corn masa.

Mission: Space Pretzel Cart

  • Slushy- A delicious non-alcoholic slushy of strawberry-mango swirl, mango, and strawberry is going to be a must-try from the Hispanic and Latin American Heritage menu.

Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue

  • Frozen classic Strawberry Daiquiri- Lime, strawberry, and Thomas Tew Rum.

San Angel Inn Restaurante

  • Rosa Maria Margarita with lime juice, orange liquer, black currant, violet cordial, Centinela Blanco Tequila. This is a limited item.

Sunshine Seasons

  • Chef Veronica’s Birria Tacos- Birria Tacos with lime, Cilantro, onions, Monterrey Jack, and beef also has a side dish of consommé. This is a limited edition food.
  • Spicy Fish Taco- Fire-roasted corn salsa along with creamy jalapeno-Piri Piri sauce. Relish is also served along with plantain chips.
  • Rotisserie Chicken, along with black beans and yellow rice.

Brazil Booth Food & Wine

  • Feijoada- Black Beans with Brazil nut pesto and crispy pork belly. Ben’s Original Long Grain White rice accompanies the dish.
  • Pao de Queijo: Cheese Bread from Brazil
  • Frozen Caipirinha with Cachaca
  • Xingu Brazilian Black Lager

The Fry Basket Booth Food & Wine

  • Adobo Yuca Fries along with garlic cilantro aioli is what you wouldn’t wanna miss during the Hispanic and Latin American Heritage month

Mexico Booth Food & Wine

  • It Takes Two to Mango Margarita-Mezcal Ilegal Joven, ancho Chile Lime Juice, Nixta Corn Liqueur, mango puree, and rum. All of these are mounted on rocks with a hibiscus-salt rim.
  • Blood Orange Charm Margarita- Centinela Blanco Tequila, prosecco, vodka infused with black currant, and blood orange aperitif. These are mounted over rocks with sweet dried Chile Salt Rim and pink peppercorns.
  • Capirotada de Chocolate: Abuelita chocolate bread pudding along with chocolate crème angalise
  • Tostada de barbacoa- Barbacoa beef is mounted on a fried corn tortilla and served with chives, queso fresco, Mexican crema, salsa verde, and chipotle black beans.
  • Taco al Pastor- Seared pork belly paston on a corn tortilla, chives, pickled onions, pineapple, and chipotle black beans.

Shimmering Sips Booth Food & Wine

  • Guava Mousse on a sugar cookie along with whipped cream of coconut-lime flavor

The Swanky Sauce Swine Booth Food & Wine

  • Grilled pork shoulder lettuce wrap, cilantro-lime crema, pickled red onion, and charred corn salsa.

All of the Food & Wine store food items are available till November 19th.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Flame Tree Barbecue

  • Tres Leches Cupcake- This is a plant-based version of traditional Colombian Tres leches cake along with vanilla cake dipped in oat, almond, and coconut milk, cinnamon (plant-based), swirls of whipping icing, a white chocolate piece is featuring characters from Encanto loke Pico, Chispi, and Antonio, and passion fruit boba.

Caravan Road

  • Pina Colada Shaved ice. You can get it with or without vodka.
  • Kusafiri Bakery
  • Impossible Empanada- Flaky Latin Dough with picadillo (plant-based).

  • Blood Orange Pisco Sour- Fresh Blood orange juice, egg white, syrup, fresh lime juice, and Barsol Pisco.
  • Churros with coffee crème anglaise and vanilla crema
  • Birria Tacos- ci;antrp, Oaxaca Cheese, ancho and guajillo chiles, and braised beef.

Pizzafari (Available till October 15th from September 15th)

  • Chicken Street Tacos- Two roasted chicken tacos and pickled onion, cabbage, cotija, and lime crema. The house-made sauce is a special edition, along with salsa and chips.
  • Pulled Street tacos- Two pulled pork tacos, pickled onion, house-made sauce, cabbage, cotija, and lime crema. Salsa and chips are sides.

Tiffins (Available till October 15th from September 15th)

  • Blood Orange Pisco Sour- Barsol Pisco, fresh lime juice, fresh blood orange juice, egg white, and syrup.
  • Chocolate Tres Leches- Chocolate cake wrapped in class tres leches, coffee Chantilly, dulce de leche, and white chocolate garnishing.

  • Sangria Roja- Flavors of apples and oranges blended with red wine and E&J Brandy.

  • Mexican Spiced Hot COCO Brownie- Mexican spiced Hot chocolate flavored brownie with Miguel chocolate. It will be available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party on October 31st.
