Remove or cover any furniture or other values in the workspace. Cover the floor with a tarp or old blanket, or sheet. Make sure the HVAC system is off and the return air duct is covered with plastic before installing windows Brampton.

  • Carefully remove the current window

Use a pry bar to carefully remove the casing trim from the interior and exterior. Next, use a hammer to remove the sill plate from the window. Remove all hardware. Next, carefully use a razor knife to remove any remaining caulking or paint. Finally, remove the window using the pry bar.

  • Prep the window opening

Take a minute to make sure that the surface of the horizontal headers and vertical studs are square and plumb. Use the table saw to carefully cut new boards if this step is not possible. Leave a gap of a quarter of an inch on each side of the new window and the window opening. Peel back any remaining caulking to install the window frame but do not discard it, as it can be used on the new window after installation is complete.

  • Put the new window in place

Before installing the new window, first, perform a dry-fitting to ensure it fits properly. Install a bead of silicone around the exterior perimeter of the window opening where the new flange and exterior siding meet. Use shims and level to adjust the window frame and then carefully install the replacement. Once the window is level and plumb, anchor it in place with screws. Follow the directions provided by the replacement windows Brampton manufacturer. Use flashing tape or house wrap to get the best seal.

  • Insulate the window and apply window trim and hardware.

Use foam insulation to fill any gap and allow it to completely dry before you remove the excess. Finally, install the jamb extensions and trim molding on the interior of the window. As well as replace the exterior molding. Paint or stain the window if so desired.

Contact your local windows and doors company for any questions or assistance. Do not attempt to install replacement windows Brampton if you feel uncomfortable doing so alone. Professional installation is the ideal option as the process is under warranty by the company should anything go wrong.
