Are you fully vaccinated against the coronavirus? If yes, then Disney World and Disneyland have some good news for you. And this is going to be of interest as it is related to the new mask mandate.

New Mask Mandate for Disney theme parks

Both Disneyland and Disney World have announced to ease the mandatory mask-wearing restrictions when in the park. You heard that right.

If you are completely vaccinated, you can choose to ditch the mask at only some places within the resort. However, this applies to certain areas only.

In other places, for example, the transportation area, the restrictions on wearing a mask every time remain the same.

However, the mask-wearing rules remain the same for all the guests who are not fully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus.

These guests would have to wear a mask at all places in the resort. This refers to both outdoor and indoor areas.

However, we are unsure if these are also applicable for the cast members. We have not come across any official statement from the park that has spoken of easing the mask-wearing rules for the officials. This caters to both Disneyland and Disney World employees.

On the contrary, the Universal Orlando Resort has instructions for its employees and guests. They have laid down a new set of rules.

According to the rules, both their guests and their employees can not wear a mask when inside the resort. However, this is applies to people who have complete vaccination.

The new mask policies of both the parks are different, catering to where they are located. The restrictions changed when the whole country was revising its mask-wearing rules.

The difference in rules between Disney World and Disneyland

In California, the health authorities have come together and decided to ease wearing a mask. However, on the contrary, the state of Florida has not shown any ease in its mask-wearing rules. It is as mandatory today to wear a mask as when the pandemic hits the world.

A common question that could arise in the minds of everyone is how the park would get to know who all are completely vaccinated. This is more because, according to Florida law, businesses cannot ask for the vaccination status of their guests. Hence, we are not aware of if the distinction would be based on anything more than both Disneyland and Disney World’s honor system.
