Who doesn’t like riding on rollercoasters? The fun of riding one is that you will be scared, but still, the adrenaline of riding one will attract you to that. Especially if a new rollercoaster ride is the newest attraction at Disney World, nothing beats that ecstasy. So, if you love riding on rollercoasters, find out all about Cosmic Rewind at Disney World.

Cosmic Rewind at Disney World

EPCOT reopened the Galaxy Guardians: Cosmic Rewind Rollercoaster on May 27, 2022. This aligns with EPCOT’s original vision of providing the experience and adventure that astronomers are known to get in space travel!

If you are a movie buff, you would know that the main inspiration behind this rollercoaster ride is the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel makes its entry into the Disney World holding the hands of Guardians of the Galaxy.

The ride technology and vehicles will blow your mind. You can even experience storytelling while riding it. As you move from left to right, you will get to hear the stories of rides in these vehicles. So, if you have a height above 42 inches, you can have the fortune of having the experience of riding this rollercoaster.

However, there has been a debate among early visitors about which one is the best. Is it the Marvel-themed ride at Universal, or the one at Orlando is the best? If you are interested to know the answer to this debate, read this article.

As had been said before, Marvel first appeared at Disney World only this summer. However, it has a strong presence in Universal Studios in California.

There are four rides in Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios based on Marvel and its characters. They are The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Doctor Doom’s Fearfall, Storm Force Accelatron, and Incredible Hulk Coaster. Thus, naturally, visitors compare these rides and the newest Marvel addition at the Disney World – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

However, as the ride is fairly new, even if the hands-on experience is still unavailable, we can very well talk about the other rides we have listed so far.

Storm Force Accelatron

X-Men’s Storm is the main inspiration behind this teacup-style ride attraction. Even if the kids enjoy it, it is nothing outstanding or exotic if Marvel is considered.

Thus, this is a basic ride. So, it is nothing compared to the grandiose arrangements made in Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The sheer size and strength of the entire thing will blow everyone’s mind.

However, this ride has the bonus point for X-Men character incorporation, and also, kids will get access to it as it has no height bar.

Other attractions like Cosmic Rewind, Spider-Man, Hulk, and Fearfall have height restrictions. However, uniqueness hasn’t found its place in this ride.

Doctor Doom’s Fearfall

Inspired by Doctor Doom, a Marvel creation, this is a drop-tower ride. Even if it is thrilling and will initiate an adrenaline rush, it is not long-lasting. However, the perk of riding this is that you will not have to wait much in the standing queues. But, to ride this, you do not have to visit Universal Studios.

These drop-tower rides are available in almost every amusement park around the world. The Marvel characters can be an added attraction, but you don’t have to spend so many bucks to ride it.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

One of the better counterparts of the earlier rides in Universal Studios is the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.

In this ride, the innovation is that not only will you have a face-of with Spiderman but also with some of the greatest villains in his lifetime. So, this motion simulator ride has been one of the most famous attractions at Universal Studios since 1999, its opening year.

If you consider intricate theme details and adventure feeling, this is the closest to Cosmic Rewind. There are many physical effects to smear you completely in its feelings.

However, to let it overwhelm the real effects of Cosmic Rewind will be an injustice to the latter. There is this little car where you will have to sit to get the feeling of Amazing Adventures. But, when a rollercoaster ride replaces that car, the fun gets doubled.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster

Universal Studios, at Orland, has a rollercoaster ride based on Marvel themes called the Incredible Hulk Coaster. Riding this coaster will make you feel like turning into a hulk. Based on simulation techniques, this is a very thrilling experience.

However, Velocicoaster and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventures are steps away and more thrilling compared to this. But, as they do not have any connection with the Marvel theme, they go out of the race.

You can even be upside-down while riding Incredible Hulk Coaster. The speed is faster than any of the rides mentioned above, but it is not as impressive as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is.

However, the themes and the experience are beautiful and, at times, thrilling, which may keep you at the edge. Thus, more or less, the guests give it an 8.8 mark out of 10. Rarely does it go below that?

So, in case you don’t get a chance to ride Cosmic Rewind, this is your closest possible chance to get that experience.

Final Thoughts

So, after we reviewed all the other Marvel-themed rides, it stands out that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind still tops the list.

It is the most immaculately themed, thrilling, and funny. If you want a wholesome adventure, this is the best place to get it. So, if you plan to visit Disney World in 2023, don’t forget to visit Cosmic Rewind on your list!
