Are you a Disney nerd? If so, you, too, may have had people looking at you with judgy eyes. You’ve likely been called weird and immature only because you are a grown-up now, and you simply “shouldn’t” love Disney. But who says Disney is only for little ones? There are no rules about that, and if it makes you happy, why would you care about what others think?

Being part of a fandom can change your life in a positive way, such as helping you embrace your creative self and connect to those sharing the same love for Disney as you do. Besides, there is something really magical about Disney world that you can’t put into words, so naturally, you want to experience it as often as possible. But how can you do that? Although the most obvious thing seems to be visiting a theme park, we know that’s not always an option – but don’t worry, there are other creative ways to immerse yourself in Disney’s magic. If you want to find out more, keep reading!

Buy merch

There are many things that Disney fans love, and merch is one of them. The Disney products available on the market feature movie characters, including toys, clothing and accessories. But what makes them so appealing for fans? Well, the motivations can be different for everyone: for instance, some people may simply buy Disney merch to show off their fandom, while others may do it to take their favourite stories home.

Whatever your reason for buying merch, there are endless ways to express your love for Disney. For example, you can look for Disney-inspired bags ( luckily, plenty of them are available in stores), and bring this accessory with you when running errands or heading to work. Or, you can buy a new pair of shoes that feature Mickey Mouse and can be easily incorporated into your everyday outfits. Pins are also very expressive and come in different designs, which means you can find something that fits your personal style.

Dress up like your favourite character

Disneybounding is one of the best ways to bring your favourite character to life – especially if you are a fashion lover! There’s no need to try to look like the exact copy of Cinderella or Merida; all that matters is to have fun in the process by playing with accessories. Creating the look of your favourite Disney character is super easy! You have to start by getting the colours right – in other words, if your character wears a blue dress, ideally, you’ll want to opt for a blue dress, too. But of course, this doesn’t mean you can’t think of creative ways to incorporate the colour palette into your outfit. After all -this is what Disneybounding is all about letting your imagination run wild!

Once you arm yourself with the colours you need for the outfit, look through your closet to see whether there are some clothes you can use. If not, visit thrift stores, and purchase those clothing items that you know you’d like to add to your wardrobe. Finally, don’t forget to accessorise! No outfit is complete without a ribbon, hat, tie, gloves, or jewellery. Again, you don’t have to try to reproduce the exact outfit of the character. For instance, if you want to do a Merida Disneybound, it’s a great idea to add arrows into your outfit – even if that’s not how Merida’s dress looks like in the movie, it’s part of their identity, so your outfit will still look excellent.

Try out Disney-inspired food recipes

Bring the magic of Disney to your own kitchen by creating some of the most delicious dishes! Luckily, there are many recipes you can easily pull off – all you need is store-bought products and to use your imagination! From strawberry-filled Beauty and The Beast cupcakes and Mickey waffles to Moana cocktails, there are many ideas to try – Pinterest is full of them, so if you don’t have the app downloaded on your phone, go ahead and do it!

There are also Disney-themed cookbooks available online which include the most iconic dishes, such as the Monte Cristo sandwich (from Blue Bayou in Disneyland). Suppose you are a cooking enthusiast and a Disney lover. In that case, such a cookbook is a must-have, allowing you to bring a taste of Disney (literally) into your homemade dishes and show off your extraordinary cooking skills.

Visit Disney-themed parks

While there are many ways to experience Disney’s magic, nothing compares to a visit to one of the theme parks, whether Tokyo Disneyland or Walt Disney in Florida. These attractions are wonderful and will allow you to have the time of your life and make great memories with your friends or family.

There’s a reason why Disney World is described as the “Happiest Place on Earth” – with its delicious smells and upbeat music, it makes for the perfect escape from day-to-day life, which can sometimes be quite stressful. Besides, are there any Disney fans who wouldn’t find it a delightful experience to meet their favourite characters in person? Exactly, there’s no such thing. So, get your tickets to Disney World and get ready for all the fun you will experience! P.S the attractions there make for incredible Instagrammable spots, so make sure to bring a camera with you to take lots of pictures.

The bottom line

As you can see, there are many incredible ways to bring your fandom into your day-to-day life, whether by purchasing clothes and accessories or cooking delicious foods. Remember, there’s no definition of what a “true” Disney fan looks like. If you don’t visit a theme park, that doesn’t mean you don’t love Disney enough! It’s all a matter of finding what works best for you and incorporating it into your life. Perhaps travelling isn’t your thing, and you’d rather be in the kitchen, trying out as many Disney-inspired recipes as possible! That’s completely fine, as long as it brings you joy and makes you feel close to your beloved characters.

So, how will you hold on to Disney’s magic in your everyday life?
