The other anniversary at Disney World that you possibly don’t know about is at EPCOT! Yes, the futuristic EPCOT is to celebrate 40th year anniversary, and the celebrations begin now!

The anniversary you did not know about

Those who are fans of Disney know that Disney World is having its 50th anniversary this year. From October 1, 2021, till March 2023, the celebrations relating to the 50th anniversary will continue.

From unique experiences to new attractions, many innovations, limited edition drinks, food, and merchandise, Magic Kingdom, the first theme park, has exploded in celebrations all over the year.

However, did you know another park inside the same Disney World was also stepping on its 40th anniversary? So, EPCOT is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and here is what we know and don’t know about it.

The Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, or EPCOT, dates back to 1982. It was created to offer guests an experimental experience where they can experience many worlds within the walls of the theme park.

It has many popular attractions which enthrall guests from time to time. The China Pavilion, The Mexico Pavilion, The Norway Pavilion, The Germany pavilion, and many other places bring the guests the essence of these countries.

You can explore what it is like to reside in these countries through drinks, food, and merchandise. EPCOT is connected with Magic Kingdom via monorail.

Thus, with the coming of EPCOT, Walt Disney’s values also came to fulfillment. EPCOT, to him, was a utopian city, much inclined towards the American dream. EPCOT to Celebrate 40th Anniversary

Even if EPCOT should deserve the celebration of stepping on the 40th year, it seems it is neglected a bit in the light of the 50th-anniversary celebration of Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, which was a place for eleven years when EPCOT was born.

There were many announcements and celebrations and changes for the 50th-anniversary celebrations. But, it seemed that Disney kept a mum about the EPCOT celebrations of the 40th anniversary.

EPCOT 30th anniversary

Ten years back, on the 30th anniversary of EPCOT, the celebrations were not that big. There was no overhaul of the park, no exquisite decorations.

The park just celebrated for a day on October 1, 2012, and that’s it. There was an Imagineer presentation and a show featuring Voices of Liberty and Mariachi Cobre. They also showcased a version of IllumiNations. However, this was it, and nothing more was done.

In contrast, the 50th-anniversary celebrations have gone gaga in the case of Disney World.

Even if transformations are happening at EPCOT, some new attractions are being made, and some constructions are underway. However, there is not much new regarding what prep the theme park will have for the 40th annual celebrations.

Instead, these are part of Disney’s normal way of bringing innovations to its theme parks. Moreover, it doesn’t seem that these constructions will get over any time soon, certainly not within these four months.
